Del is a composer, conductor, and orchestrator based in Los Angeles who specializes in music for visual media. He composed and performed music from an early age, playing trumpet in classical ensembles touring in the United States and Europe, and playing guitar in various rock and jazz groups. He has a Masters of Music in Film Composition from Seattle Film Institute, where he studied composition and orchestration for film and television with Emmy-winning composer Hummie Mann, songwriting with multi-platinum songwriter Sue Ennis, and studio technology with Tim Huling. He has composed scores for shorts, features, and commercials. Recent compositions include music for Top Chef Master Thierry Rautureau’s project, Kitchen Circus and music for Lifetime Movie Network’s The Husband She Met Online.
Del has served on the board of Academy of Scoring Arts since 2013, including two years as president. The ASA was founded by composer Ron Jones to create a community of composers and filmmakers. Del has also been a contributing writer for the Seattle Weekly and MSNBC, writing about indie music for the column “Independent Study.”
